Movin on up!

You are looking at our new location for the next Indie Banditas bazaar. The photos don't do it justice. We can fit at least 70 artists in this space and it is well lit, has bathrooms, a stage etc.
It is perfect. I found myself getting emotional as I signed the rental contract. It is getting bigger and bigger and my dream of having something like the Urban Craft Uprising show in Seattle is becoming a reality. I love all the artists involved and the fact that I get to meet and get to know all of them individually.
A lot of great and exciting things are happening for our bazaar. I have some top secret things under wraps and some offers that I am still sorting through. I had no idea when we started our little bazaar just last year, how successful it would be.
Thank you to everyone for making it so special.
I will begin mapping out spots and designating people in October. Those that paid right away had first pick, so as soon as they choose, it will be sent off to the rest of you in order of payment received. Thanks!
-Kate

Inspiration at it's finest

I just really wanted to give credit where credit is deserved. My amazing cousin/big sister started their Indie Bazaar a long time ago and it is just so neat to see how far they have come. If you haven't checked out their bazaar yet, make sure you do by clicking on the Beehive bazaar logo to the right. Go Steph!

"The Bazaar started in 2004 when Molly Call, Stephanie Higginbotham and Noelle Olpin, three local moms all with a serious creative bent, decided they needed a venue where they and their friends could share their arts and crafts with others in their community. They launched the original event from one of their own homes with a handful of artists and it was mostly attended by friends and family. Since then the maternal trio has grown the Bazaar into a bi-annual, multi-day event with more than fifty artists and thousands of visitors from all over the state".

Indie Banditas new website!

I am working on our new website. It has taken days, hours, minutes......you get the drift.
Within 24 hours, we will be up and running (hopefully) at www.indiebanditas.com. I know....a LOT shorter! If anyone is any good at web design, I have a few questions for you.
We will keep this blog for photos and updates, but the new site for links to each of your shops.
Thanks!
Kate

Handmade on Bainbridge

Today, I met with several owners downtown on our little Island to discuss including them in our bazaar in June. They will each carry a "I sell handmade" sign that will be displayed on the 5th and 6th. We will have a map that will list each of these stores and they will run special sales to promote buying handmade. In return, hopefully this will help to raise money for our next bazaar in November! We are also working on our Indie Banditas website. We will list each of you "banditas (and bandits) and a link to your online store. Because I will have to pay monthly to have this site up and running, it will cost each of you 15.00 for the entire year and NO additional fees. I was thinking of giving each of those interested a special "bandita" nickname. Such as "bead bandita, crazy bandita, etc.". Anyhow, that's whats up for now.

Congratulations To LethaColleen!!

Hello friends (and art lovers)!

Please come join me for my very first gallery opening (!!!). I have 30ish pieces showing @ the Gilt Edge Society during April/May... There is an opening event and I would love for you to be there to celebrate with me! Please come!

Details:

The Gilt Edge Society

12154 4th Avenue (Belltown) - in between Bell & Wall

April 10th @ 7:00-9:00PM

The opening coincides with the Belltown Art Walk so take the opportunity to come out and support the local art scene and my own tiny part of it --- and if nothing else I’m sure to make a fool of myself through my awkward excitement and spill something on myself… That’ll be fun right!? J

Country Cuttins

~~~A Little About ME~~~ I have been sewing for many years and will be offering a variety of sewn items, including many babies and children's things. But... I do like to dabble in other areas, and so you will see whatever my creative side decides to make at any given moment. All items are professionally finished and sewn in a pet/smoke free home. I will also be selling off extra supplies and fabric from time to time.
This cute and practical bib is made from 2 layers of co-ordinating flannel prints. The edges are serged and it has a snap closure. The bib front, from the neck to the bottom edge measures approximately 8".
The set also comes with 4 cloth wipes, which are perfect for clean up after eating. They are made from a layer of flannel and a layer of knit terry and serged around the edges.
TittaMe and Knit Flickr
Knit Flickr and Titta Me are two Etsy shops that are run by the same artist.. These tea towels are so sweet.
Silk table runner below is just beautiful.
Titta! (pronounced "tee-ta") is Swedish for "look at" or "watch". Children often shout this at the top of their lungs when they want to draw attention to themselves. We all want to be seen in our best light. In spite of today’s fashion trends, I believe there are quite a few girls out there who want to be noticed for the right reasons. My goal is to create brilliant, yet tasteful attire for girls of all ages, especially those entering their “tween” years and beyond. I believe style can be appropriate, flattering, and affordable!
